March was indeed a busy month filled with fun days and meaningful learning. We covered a range of concepts in Maths and Science: We celebrated Book Week by reading our favourite books every day, and inviting a guest reader to read for us. Ms. Dorota came to visit our classroom, and read "If You Give A Moose A Muffin" by Laura Numeroff. Afterwards the students filled out a mind map to demonstrate "cause and effect" in a story. Thanks Ms. Dorota, we look forward to your next visit! Book Week also transformed the hallway to a magical storyland when teachers decorated their doors. Year 1 to secondary students stopped at the doors to read and ask questions about the books. During "Dental Health Week" the school nurse visited classrooms to teach students about dental care: I would like to wish a Happy Mother's Day to all the moms. Thank you for joining us at school. I hope the students are remembering the promise they made in the song to tidy their room and put away their toys! The students made a collage of "Mothers Portraits" to celebrate the special day: Our ESLR winners from the last two assemblies are:
Haneen Ouf - Global Citizen Justin Tully - Global Citizen Abla Friwat - Independent Learner Khaleel Al-Dous - Global Citizen Maya Basalem - Global Citizen Saif Al-Salem - Global Citizen Rashid Al-Muhanadi - Dynamic Achiever Well done! We celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday on Thursday, March 2nd. Our focus books for the week were "Fox in Socks" and "The Cat in the Hat". The books are filled with rhyming words for the students to identify, and is read at a steady rhythmic pace. Listen to the stories here:
