This week in our Science lessons we are looking at how materials can change when heat and cooling are applied. To show the changes that occur in heating, we followed the simple "Mug Cake" recipe. The activity also provided connection points to other subjects:

We further explored the effect of heating on material properties by observing the changes when body heat is applied. In this experiment the materials used were: ice cubes, chocolate, flour, cheese, carrot and butter. The students held it in their hands, and were able to identify the changes. Comments are closed.
